GUIDELINES FOR ABSTRACT SUBMISSION

1. General Instructions

  • 1.1 Registration for the conclave is mandatory prior to abstract submission; abstracts from unregistered delegates will not be processed.
  • 1.2 Abstracts must be submitted online in 7th IAPSM YLNC 2026 website iapsm-ylnc.com abstract submission portal on or before the last date notified.
  • 1.3 Each presenting author may submit a maximum of two (02) abstracts.
  • 1.4 The work presented must be original and unpublished, and must not be under consideration at any other conference/journal at the time of submission.
  • 1.5 Abstracts may be submitted under the category of Oral Paper and Poster.
  • 1.6 A preference for mode of presentation (Oral/Poster) may be indicated at the time of submission; however, the final category and schedule will be decided by the Scientific Committee based on relevance, quality and space available, and its decision shall be final.
  • 1.7 Late, incomplete, or incorrectly formatted abstracts are liable to be rejected without review.

2. Themes

Abstracts are invited under the following broad thematic areas, aligned with the conclave's scientific programme:

  • 2.1 Data, Decision & Digital Health – Big Data, AI and Digital Health in Public Health Practice
  • 2.2 Public Health Surveillance & Outbreak Response
  • 2.3 Universal Health Coverage & Health Financing
  • 2.4 Antimicrobial Resistance & One Health
  • 2.5 Immunization & Vaccine Science
  • 2.6 Reproductive, Maternal, New-born, Child & Adolescent Health
  • 2.7 Nutrition & Health
  • 2.8 Non-Communicable Diseases
  • 2.9 Health Systems, Policy & Workforce Development
  • 2.10 Environmental, Occupational & Climate-related Public Health

3. Abstract Structure & Word Limit

  • 3.1 Word limit: 250 words (excluding title, authors' names, affiliations and keywords).
  • 3.2 Preferred structure for original research: Title – Background – Objectives – Methodology – Results – Conclusion – Keywords (3-5).
  • 3.3 For systematic reviews/case reports/programme evaluations, the structure may be suitably adapted (e.g., Background – Methodology/Case Description – Findings/Discussion – Conclusion), while retaining the overall word limit and keyword requirement.
  • 3.4 Abbreviations should be spelt out in full at first use.
  • 3.5 Tables/images are not to be included in the abstract text.

4. Author Details

  • 4.1 Full name(s) of all authors along with their institutional affiliation(s) must be provided directly below the title.
  • 4.2 The name of the presenting author must be bold.
  • 4.3 A maximum of six (6) authors (including the presenting author) is permitted per abstract.
  • 4.4 Contact details (e-mail ID & mobile number) of the presenting/corresponding author must be provided.
  • 4.5 The Conference Registration Number of the presenting author must be mentioned; abstracts without a valid registration number will not be accepted.

5. Formatting & Submission Specifications

  • 5.1 Abstracts must be submitted as a single MS Word (.doc/.docx) file, in Times New Roman font, size 12, single line spacing.
  • 5.2 File name format: YLNC2026_Category_RegNo_Name (e.g., YLNC2026_OP_YLNC2026045_Sharma).
  • 5.3 The subject line of the submission e-mail should read: Abstract Submission – YLNC 2026 – [Presenting Author's Name].
  • 5.4 A system-generated acknowledgement will be sent on receipt; kindly retain this for future correspondence.

6. Ethical & Declaration Requirements

  • 6.1 Institutional Ethics Committee (IEC) approval number and date must be mentioned, wherever applicable.
  • 6.2 A Conflict of Interest declaration is mandatory for every submission (state 'Nil' if not applicable).
  • 6.3 Source(s) of funding, if any, must be disclosed.
  • 6.4 By submitting an abstract, authors affirm that the work is original and that due permissions have been obtained for any previously published data/images.
  • 6.5 Formats for the above mentioned declarations are available at Section 11 and these documents need be attached during submission of the abstract.

7. Review Process

  • 7.1 All abstracts will be screened by the Scientific Committee for originality, scientific merit, relevance to the thematic areas, and adherence to formatting guidelines.
  • 7.2 Accepted abstracts will be intimated by e-mail along with their allotted category (Oral / Poster), a unique presentation ID, and venue/time slot details.
  • 7.3 The decision of the Scientific Committee regarding acceptance, category, and scheduling shall be final and binding.

8. Presentation Requirements (Brief)

  • 8.1 Detailed, category-specific presentation guidelines (slide/poster specifications, duration, and format) will be circulated separately to authors of accepted abstracts. In brief:
  • 8.1.1 Oral Paper: PowerPoint format, landscape orientation (16:9), maximum 15 slides (including Title & Thank you slides); 7 minutes for presentation + 2 minutes for discussion + 1 minute for changeover; structure to follow Introduction – Aim & Objectives – Materials & Methods – Results – Discussion – Conclusion – References – Acknowledgements (if any).
  • 8.1.2 Poster: PDF sized 3 ft × 4 ft (landscape, 16:9 for e-poster), font size 24 or larger, self-explanatory, including Introduction – Aim & Objectives – Materials & Methods – Results – Discussion – Conclusion – References – Acknowledgements (if any).

9. Awards

  • 9.1 Best Paper and Best Poster awards will be conferred category-wise (Oral / Poster), based on scientific quality, methodology, presentation skills, and response to questions.
  • 9.2 Awards will be announced on completion of the individual oral/ poster presentation sessions.
